Common Questions
Q: Is flying safe?
A: Yes! We take pride in the safety of our equipment by having all of our planes regularly maintained to FAA standards.

Q: How long does it take to learn to fly?
A: It all depends on your skill level and how frequently you are taking lessons. Your flight instructor will be able to better tell you how long this may take. Typically, it takes somewhere between 15 and 25 hours of flight training before a student is able to fly solo.

Q: When can I start?
A: Call (336) 653-9901 and schedule today!

Q: How much does it cost to fly?
A: For training rates, visit the Flight Training page.  Discovery and scenic flight information can be found on the Discovery Flights page.

Q: What are the total costs involved in obtaining a license?
A: The typical cost to obtain a private pilot licence is roughly $6,000 to $9,000.  Of course, this varies based on how quick concepts are understood and executed by the student.  After a few flight lessons, your flight instructor will be able to provide a more exact estimate.

Q: How much does fuel cost?
A: Bethany Aviation quotes all rates as "wet rates".  This means our current hourly charges will cover the cost of the aircraft rental, oil, and fuel.

Q: Can I give a flight as a gift?
A: Sure!  We sell gift certificates year round.  Discovery flights and flight lessons make great gifts for all occasions!  For more information, visit our Gift Certificates page.

Q: What payment methods are accepted?
A: We accept cash and checks.  Credit cards are not accepted at this time.
